Feeling comfortable at docks in Puget Sound and ready to discover new anchorages in the San Juan & Gulf Islands after the kids are back in school? Learn to plan around currents, tides, & navigational hazards to visit parks, towns, and places of beauty & historical interest.
Prerequisites
You are comfortable with basic operation of your boat including docking & anchoring (help will be available), & can travel on the water for up to 8 hours on a long day. Your boat has food storage space, and water & fuel capacity for 4 days without resupplying. Your equipment includes a suitable line for stern-tying, ground tackle capable of proper anchoring in up to 80 ft, and a dinghy to comfortably & easily get you from anchorage to anywhere you’d like to explore.

We will meet and leave from Everett and return to Port Ludlow, transiting the tidal currents of Deception Pass & Cattle Pass, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Anchoring & rafting will be the focus of this trip, but docks are available for those who desire.
Food, water, & fuel are available in Everett, Roche Harbor (San Juan Island), Brentwood Bay, Ganges (Saltspring Island), Fisherman Bay (Lopez Island), Friday Harbor (San Juan Island), & Port Ludlow
Possible activities include hiking, perusing shops & galleries, wine tasting at Salt Spring Vineyard, visiting the Butchart Gardens, roasting marshmallows over a campfire.
